Our Services

We offer general, advanced, and cosmetic dentistry all under one roof to help you get the perfect smile!

Cleanings

Treating periodontal disease (Gum disease)
Periodontal bacteria can enter the blood stream and travel to major organs and cause new infections. Research is strongly suggesting that this may contribute to heart disease, respiratory disease, stroke; preterm, low birth weight babies, diabetes, osteoporosis and even Alzheimer’s. Our hygienists specialize in treating periodontal disease by removing the harmful bacteria by scaling and root planing, using antimicrobial medicaments and special antibiotic micro-spheres gently placed in the infected tissue.

Velscope Oral Cancer Screening
VELscope is the most powerful tool available for assisting in the discovery of oral abnormalities. The VELscope’s distinctive blue-spectrum light causes the soft tissues of the mouth to naturally fluoresce. Healthy tissues fluoresce in distinctive patterns — patterns that are visibly disrupted by trauma or disease. Using the VELscope, a wide variety of oral abnormalities can be discovered — often before they’re visible to the unassisted eye.
Used on a regular basis, the VELscope helps dental professionals find a wide variety of soft-tissue abnormalities, allowing practices to aspire to an advanced level of patient care. The VELscope is:

• completely safe
• simple to use
• no unpleasant rinses or stains
• entire exam in about two minutes

Cosmetic Dentistry

Tooth Whitening
If you’re satisfied with the shape of your teeth but want to whiten the natural shade of your enamel, bleaching is a good choice. Teeth become discolored over time from the foods and drinks we ingest and from smoking or chewing tobacco. Even if your teeth aren’t stained, you may just want to brighten them up. Whitening of the teeth can really enhance your smile and take years off your appearance.

Professional bleaching is a chemical procedure used to whiten teeth. The systems we use in our office are safe and effective. We have an in-office procedure that is gentle, affordable and provides dramatic results. The teeth whiten 4-5 shades lighter in one relaxing visit. It does not involve lasers or damaging heat. The teeth do not become sensitive as they normally do with laser whitening. We also have a system using a custom-made bleaching tray and whitening gel that is worn at home. We customize the strength of the gel and recommend a time schedule depending on your individual situation.

Bonding
Disfigured teeth can now be restored in a single office visit. Restorative materials are adhered directly to the teeth, therefore this technique is most commonly referred to as bonding. High quality materials that improve adhesion and require less invasive tooth preparation techniques have led to longer lasting and more esthetically pleasing restorations. New materials that adhere to the teeth, contain no mercury and essentially wear at the same rate as ‘silver fillings’ are considered ‘State-of-the-Art’ and the new standard in dentistry.

Veneers & Lumineers
Veneers can perfect your smile by straightening crooked teeth, closing spaces between teeth, whitening badly stained teeth, hiding chips, and creating uniformity. Veneers which are made of thin, customized porcelain look incredibly natural and can dramatically improve your smile in just two visits.

Restorative

Crowns and bridges
Crowns, also called caps, are natural- looking covers that fit snugly over teeth to conceal cracked, badly discolored, injured, or chipped teeth. A crown protects a tooth that has insufficient structure to hold a filling. They are esthetic and durable, while making teeth more resistant to injury. We usually make them from semi-precious or precious metals and porcelain. They are permanently cemented on the teeth. A bridge is a device that holds custom-made teeth and has anchors which attach neighboring teeth. Bridges can replace missing teeth. They literally bridge gaps between teeth by filling them with strong, natural- looking artificial teeth. Bridges are permanently cemented in the mouth and are made from the same materials as crowns.

Implants
Implants are used to replace one or more missing teeth. Titanium posts are imbedded beneath the gum, preferably by an oral surgeon or periodontist. The titanium post acts as the root of the tooth. Over time, the bone integrates with the titanium posts then acts as a structure on which the replacement teeth are mounted. Because implants fuse to the bone, they can provide an excellent and permanent support for bridges, individual crowns, or even full dentures.

Dr. Nichols fabricates the replacement teeth that go over the titanium post. She has taken extensive continuing education courses over the past twenty years and works closely with carefully selected and highly trained surgeons to create beautiful and durable implant restorations.

Full Dentures
Dentures are an option for people who have lost all their teeth. Precisely designed and molded to fit one’s mouth, full dentures allow for improved chewing and keep the mouth and its surrounding facial features in proper alignment. Dentures can last for years and are much more discreet than they were even a few years ago. It will be our secret!

Your dental hygiene is of great importance. We strive to offer the best dental hygiene services in Brick Township and surrounding areas. Our registered dental hygienists are highly trained and experienced, and will help guide you through the treatment you are receiving including advanced hygiene services including Periodontal Laser Treatment and Oral Cancer Screening. Our hygienists utilize the latest techniques, equipment and knowledge to provide you with excellent preventative dental care. Our hygiene team works diligently to improve your dental hygiene, prevent periodontal disease (gum disease) and increase the longevity of your teeth. After determining a patient’s individual needs, regular appointments with our hygienists are essential for maintaining beautiful teeth and healthy gums.

Restorative dentistry is the process of repairing teeth that are damaged or infected and have lost some of their tooth structure. Problems like worn surfaces, cracks and fractures, cavity deterioration, broken-off pieces of your tooth, and more can leave teeth weak, vulnerable, and you prone to very serious issues. To restore your teeth and your chew ability to function properly, Dr. Nichols will perform a thorough dental examination, and then help you determine the most beneficial restorative treatment option. Dental repair and restoration like fillings, crowns and bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers, and dental implants are ways of repairing and restoring damaged teeth.

A gorgeous smile makes you look and feel great. Cosmetic dentistry can change your teeth, your smile, your face, your self-image, and ultimately your life. There are many advanced techniques to consider to give your smile a lift, including reshaping or straightening teeth, lengthening small teeth, restoring damaged teeth, replacing missing teeth and professional tooth whitening.
